Jikan CAG-20 contact angle goniometers measure the surface free energy of solids (solid surface tension) from contact angle measurements. The algorithm used in the software (Jikan Assistant) requires the user to measure the contact angle of at least one test liquid on the surface. Then the rest is done by the software and solid surface tension is calculated. The suggested algorithms are OWRK, Wu and Equation of state. The polar and dispersive components of the solid surface tension can be calculated separately (Fig. 1).
We are proud to announce that Jikan CAG-20 is one of the first devices that measures the solid surface tension in accordance with ISO 19403:2017.
